hey!! I really enjoy this but for me after the "add to steam wishlist" pops up right over the settings/undo button so i only get like 10 minutes before i can't undo or check settings :((( cute game though!!
This is delightful, but at the moment it only grabs me for about an hour... what it needs is some deeper consequences to what I lay out... things to discover, interesting/surprising things which happen when I put components together in certain combinations, maybe new objects I can unlock by doing that...
thanks for the feedback and I'm honestly happy that it was worthy of an hour!
I currently working on more interactions with the characters and their environment (unsure how much of that will be in the demo vs the full steam release), I also have a vague idea in my head about different types of characters that will do interesting things (ie maybe a character who only shows up when it's raining, or a character who plants flowers etc), but that idea isn't fully fleshed out yet.
Yeah, it is really hard to plan that sort of thing in advance, I have a back-burner game idea myself that requires that kind of deep discovery mechanic and I have no idea how to get into it myself...
I might need to spend some time researching specifically into other games that have done that well, if I can find them...
thanks for the feedback! I have that one on my to do list, just need to see how in demand it is and how much work it'll take before I start work on it!
The game, the town you can build and the art style are overall super cute.
But I wish the little gourdlets would interact more with their environment. For the building itself it would be nice to have an undo-button and the ability to save your creations.
I saw that some of these suggestions are already in the planning. So keep up the good work! :)
I currently have a limit of 10 gourdlets in your town (after there are 10, the train will still arrive, but no one will come out). Do you have a better idea?
There could be a button which would make it possible to stop the arrival of gourdlets or, even better, which would make that there are as many gourdlets which leave the train as gourdlets which go up there.
wow haven't checked 0.0.6 yet... but from the screenshots... woah... such a huge upgrade from previous version... I wonder if this is still as heavy as previous one...
September 22, 2022, this game looks really nice but has some performance issues like lag but the game has a nice base to it and I cant wait to see what happens next ill edit my comment when future updates are released.
I also have that bug where you can't place tiles directly in front of the train depo and every time I opened the menu with the houses I got lag and as I filled up more of the map with things. Still very cute and can't wait for what's next.
So cute! Thank you for sharing this charming, satisfying game! I think having benches for spirits to sit on would be very cute. If they are visiting they deserve to chill :)
Also, sometimes sidewalks and signs/mailboxes/fences can't be built at the odd corner of a house or body of water? I wanted to put fences all around the pond so nobody fell in for example, but it wouldn't build the last fence I needed to close it. 🤔
Hi, I enjoyed the game. I thought of a quality of life change I would like for the UI. When you select one of the building/ structure categories from the left sidebar, I wanted the first potential option on the bottom sidebar to be selected by default so I could start placing something immediately. E.g. if you selected the pavement category from the left sidebar, the first pavement option in the bottom sidebar would automatically be selected.
it'll be tricky to implement, since the buildings are all 2d drawings and can't actually rotate, but I'll definitely try to do something like this with math tricks
Its just a lot of guys in one house. I made a ton of houses and then broke all of them, except for one. Then all the guys in the houses moved to that one house. And their auras made this...
yes!!!! I love that idea, and im moving in that direction! Currently working on furniture for house interiors, and after that will likely be more interesting buildings like shops!
I am working on an update as we speak which will add more items and home interiors- watering plants sounds adorable though and I'll definitely add it to my list!
The station and the small village in the forest :)
Benches, shops, etc. that would make the spirits not just go from house to house and be able to see the village from different angles are my suggestions...
And the game really tends to bug and/or crash :( (for example, you can't place objects on certain tiles, often)
And good to know about those bugs- I have noticed not being able to put paths on certain tiles. Did you notice any patterns when it broke? Like was it all tiles adjacent to water or something?
It's a nearby object that prevents the construction, to be able to pose, I must therefore delete the objects around until I find the one that blocks...
It's so laggy (heavy?) when I tried to place the object on the land.
Probably could add feature to rotate the land, so I could see how the land looks like from the other side.
Add name for objects (and it's function, not that important I think) probably could enhance the session. So the gamer could wonder less regarding what is these for, what are those for.
Will this game later playable offline? Not in browser? I mean, if it's just one-go-play-session, it feels boring, frankly. But if people could play it offline, they could come back and continue their progress when they time.
Probably could add "view layer" option. As in, gamer could see "blocks"/"area" that certain objects used, and placed other objects if the surrounding is still empty.
Probably could also add "money system" to limit how many objects people can built in a session, and spirit could gave us fee (even if it's small) to build the village.
I also recorded my gameplay, but as I just finished it, it's still raw as for now. Also this game kinda reminds me of Dream Town Story by Kairosoft. I do, enjoyed playing the game, but I definitely didn't finished that whole town in just one go. It took days, and I was addicted to play it for hours back then. Other players could also "visit" our town, as tourist, and increase our money.
I hope this game could be better in the future :)
Also, if it's possible, a discord server probably is a good choice too for this small (?) fandom to grow further :)
awesome, I love seeing pictures of what people build. Thanks for the post and the feedback! I added it all to my to do list . I will definitely be adding in more interesting things to do while playing, like money and object names. I will be posting a major update to the game in the next few weeks with that!
When you said it's laggy- was it that way from the start, or only once you placed a bunch of objects down?
A discord is a good idea, I will message you if I end up creating one :)
Hii. Here is the gameplay footage from me. You can see how it's laggy when I tried to place an object, and stopped when I move my cursor back. Currently this gameplay is still unlisted, and will be available later for public on Friday, 25 March 2022, at 01 PM (UTC+7). Anyway, I hope this could help you find the bug(s) :)
Absolutely love this game! it's super aesthetic and cute, but could you maybe add some sort of grass path? because I've noticed that the spirits only walk on the paths and I made a little garden but they won't go into the garden because there's no path... :<
And also maybe single flowers and single rocks? I think adding some variety would be nice. Also wish it could save...
Loved this!!! So relaxing to build a cute island, coming from someone who does not usually play anything like this. Would you consider adding soothing music in the background? Also having little wild animals that appear and interact with the spirits in some way? Excited to see how it progresses!
That’s a nice game, I love the art and especially the cute noises the spirits make.
The game quickly slowed down as I added things though. Also, it looks like a lot of spirit won’t explore the island and stay at the station instead - maybe they’re scared ?.
Anyway, I had fun building my island and I’m curious about what you’ll add next!
that looks beautiful!!!! question- did you notice that the trees sway a little? I was wondering if I made that effect too subtle
they're probably a little scared, that seems much more likely to me than a bug in my code 😬
im going to look into the performance issues and spirits staying at the station bug this weekend! thanks for the feedback and ill keep you posted on updates
since you are looking for feedback, here's some ideas:
some relaxing tunes and/or sounds that are more soothing and less repetitive
ability to mute sound in game
ability to hide the ui
ability to zoom
ability to save (i guess that would only be possible with a download version?)
a variety of spirit behavior would be nice, either interacting with the items or with each other (i realize this is probably a #ton# of work though!)
on that note, i totally vote for a lil spirit who delivers the mail between mailboxes XD
a variety of spirit types would be sweet, but that may not be the vibe you're going for
it seemed that spirits grouped together create a lot of light. maybe the lightposts could glow a bit brighter similar to the spirits and the train headlight? this is an aesthetic choice so i wouldn't say it's necessary.
where is the bathhouse?!? haha, jk
these were the "issues" i ran into while playing:
i couldn't figure out to get all the spirits to explore the island. some would walk around but most of them stayed on the platform. do you know why this might have happened?
at least one of the spirits on my island seemed "stuck". it might(???) have been that i removed and replaced the building they were in (or near), but that didn't seem to be a problem for other spirits. maybe they were just bored. or shy.
( ꈍ ␣ ꈍ )
[i could add a screenshot but i doubt it would be useful.]
thank you SO much for all this feedback, you have no idea how much it means to me!! I'm going to add all your feedback to my doc and try to work on at least some of it. A couple notes:
-a spirit mail deliverer is the cutest idea I've ever heard
- I noticed that some of them just chill on the platform as well, I'll have to look into that. Im sure its that they're shy and definitely not a bug
- a variety of spirit types also sounds awesome. I need to do more planning on that as I want to decide whether it makes sense to have certain spirits have certain behaviors or if they all act the same but just come in many shapes and sizes
- bathhouse pending (gotta hire myself copyright a lawyer before I introduce yubaba and haku tho)
thank you!!! townscaper was a big influence for sure. Ground elevation would make things look so beautiful. It will be a big undertaking but I'll add it to my list!

ah thank you so much for pointing that out!
I just made a fix to lower the wishlist button, and it should work now
This is delightful, but at the moment it only grabs me for about an hour... what it needs is some deeper consequences to what I lay out... things to discover, interesting/surprising things which happen when I put components together in certain combinations, maybe new objects I can unlock by doing that...
Can sometimes see lilypads through the ground...
thanks for the feedback and I'm honestly happy that it was worthy of an hour!

Hi! Can you please add a feature that lets you save your game? You could even make it able to have multiple files.
thanks for the feedback! I have that one on my to do list, just need to see how in demand it is and how much work it'll take before I start work on it!
yes

thank you for the kind words and feedback!!!!!
- an undo button is planned or my next update (in the next few days)
- save feature is on my list (not sure how soon I'll get to it, I have to look through all my feedback to prioritize it)
- more interactions with environment is actively in development, I just need to decide how much I want to put into this demo vs the full steam game!
We should be able to stop the coming of the train because we tend to overflow
I currently have a limit of 10 gourdlets in your town (after there are 10, the train will still arrive, but no one will come out). Do you have a better idea?
There could be a button which would make it possible to stop the arrival of gourdlets or, even better, which would make that there are as many gourdlets which leave the train as gourdlets which go up there.
gourdlets could come and go on the train so they would constantly be fluctuating
Enjoyed so much, I do like seeing how your game evolved in the comments, too. All the work you put into this lovely game.
it’s so nice to see what people make! Thank you for your comment and for sharing your town!!
Love this update!!! Super cute and cool c: WOW!
thank you!!
wow haven't checked 0.0.6 yet... but from the screenshots... woah... such a huge upgrade from previous version... I wonder if this is still as heavy as previous one...
let me know what you think! I put in a lot of effort to make it more efficient.
I'll make sure to reply and provided my gameplay later when I have time to play it :)))
that would be amazing!
September 22, 2022, this game looks really nice but has some performance issues like lag but the game has a nice base to it and I cant wait to see what happens next ill edit my comment when future updates are released.
thats so nice, thank you!! still working on getting the bugs ironed out, just trying to find time for it :)
I also have that bug where you can't place tiles directly in front of the train depo and every time I opened the menu with the houses I got lag and as I filled up more of the map with things. Still very cute and can't wait for what's next.
hey thank you!!! I hope to put out an update sometime soon!!!!
I'm having the weirdest bug where nothing can be built directly in front of the train platform. Traffic jam.
also, where did you get that water asset? did you make it yourself, it's perf
I noticed that too! Thanks for the feedback
and thanks! I made it myself using shaders
So cute! Thank you for sharing this charming, satisfying game! I think having benches for spirits to sit on would be very cute. If they are visiting they deserve to chill :)

yay thanks for playing!
I have noticed that bug as well, I think the game will change quite a bit with my next release but I will make sure to target that bug!
Hi, I enjoyed the game. I thought of a quality of life change I would like for the UI. that makes sense!
I am planning a pretty big overhaul which should change the ui significantly, but I will keep this in mind!
also I love always sunny haha, nice username
New suggestion :) ! Being able to see the island from different angles (~3D)..
great suggestion!
it'll be tricky to implement, since the buildings are all 2d drawings and can't actually rotate, but I'll definitely try to do something like this with math tricks
Nice, but the view is not necessarily pivoting, it can be seen North, East, South, West with the different sides of the buildings...
right right totally, I'll add that to my long term to do list!
LOL
oh no!!!! I wish I knew why this was happening!
Im making a bunch of changes to how the guys move around, so hopefully this kinda thing will go away?
Its just a lot of guys in one house. I made a ton of houses and then broke all of them, except for one. Then all the guys in the houses moved to that one house. And their auras made this...
ohh lol. then ill just consider that intended behavior
Is there a way to save progress on any version? I haven't really started playing yet, I've just messed around and it's really fun! :D
awesome!
there isn't any way to save right now, I'm currently working on more in game updates, and then after that I'll probably do stuff like saves!
Okay cool! I was just making sure I wasn't missing something
nope nope, you're not
I love this game, I think it would be interesting to see shops! and maybe have the spirits wear outfits if they're in charge of the shop?
yes!!!! I love that idea, and im moving in that direction! Currently working on furniture for house interiors, and after that will likely be more interesting buildings like shops!
this game is so cute awahh :OO I had a lotta fun decorating! I would love to see more from this game soon it's really cool:D thank u! <3
magnificent :) !!!
omg thank you!!!
much more coming in the next few weeks!
these screenshots are really glorious
I LOVE THIS GAME!!! the voices that they make are so cute and the sound of the waves splashing is so calming.
- Add more objects, please
- Add more actions. like watering the plants, taking water from the well.
wow thank you!!
I am working on an update as we speak which will add more items and home interiors- watering plants sounds adorable though and I'll definitely add it to my list!
beautiful
The little guys won't do anything? :( I place stuff but they just stand at the station in a group and stare.
oh no! You need to put in a path to buildings for them to walk around!
(that will go away in the next update and they'll just walk on the grass :))
it seems like you cant place a path in front of them, you have to do it before they arrive
ah that's a weird bug! will be fixed in the next update!
Ahhh that explains a lot, yeah I was having the same issue with not being able to place the tiles
aah looks awesome!
i cant place stones in front of the station :,(
nvm i did it :)
I's super cute! I wish you could remove stuff tho-
thank you!!
you can remove stuff by right clicking on them!! I should probably add that to the help text.
super cute i love it!
thank you!!!
The station and the small village in the forest :)
Benches, shops, etc. that would make the spirits not just go from house to house and be able to see the village from different angles are my suggestions...

ahh yay im glad you liked it!!
working on all those suggestions as we speak :)

It's a nearby object that prevents the construction, to be able to pose, I must therefore delete the objects around until I find the one that blocks...
Being able to choose different islands would be nice too
oh thats great to know.. I'll definitely look into that!
and ill add the different islands thing to my to do list!
so cool :)
You can make a village!!!! :D
ooh I like the gardens that are right next to the water

Hii. I just tried yours, and my opinion is:

the lag was felt throughout these process:
Probably a footage would explain better. I'll try to upload my gameplay tomorrow and link it to you then :)
that would be awesome!!!
thank you so much!!! that is super helpful for debugging :)
🤩💜
yaaaay i love seeing what people make !

thank you for the feedback!!!
just last night I added the ability for spirits to walk on the grass if there is no available path because I was having the same problem.
all your other suggestions are now in my to do list doc :)
Thanks!
Loved this!!! So relaxing to build a cute island, coming from someone who does not usually play anything like this. Would you consider adding soothing music in the background? Also having little wild animals that appear and interact with the spirits in some way? Excited to see how it progresses!
<333333
ill add all of that!
Love this game! So so so cute and uplifting, nice little thing to play :) Hope there will be more content eventually x
wow thank you! i'm working on more content as we speak :)

^ i fixed the lag and the spirits waiting at the station, thanks again for the feedback
Cute game, but really slow on 32GB of RAM. Slows down when placing houses. And then when there are ore spirits walking around.
ah thank you for the feedback!! I will work on optimizing it this weekend.
fixed up lag btw: https://aunty-games.itch.io/mystic-village/devlog/357125/005-fix-lag-fix-scared-spirits-
so much fun to make a village. I wish I could really make a fence that easily!
<3
hiya! nice work so far!
since you are looking for feedback, here's some ideas:
these were the "issues" i ran into while playing:

zoom: added
you stole my picture mode idea. I can't believe you!1!
that only adds zoom - im working on picture mode now and will push it in the next version release later today
This game looks amazing!
I'm in love with the graphics and the general vibe it gives off.
This sort of reminds me of Townscaper, it could totally work in a similar way where you could save and load your maps.
Ground elevation would also be a nice addition, although it's not an easy task to do.
Looking forward to updates! :)
thank you!!! townscaper was a big influence for sure. Ground elevation would make things look so beautiful. It will be a big undertaking but I'll add it to my list!
Hey really interesting game.
You plan to make some kind of devlog? Would be fun, also i think that a way to zoom in and out can be really cool.
Awesome! I am planning to add zooming in next :)
I'd definitely do a devlog. Should I put it right here in itch.io?
Yeah, offcourse!! I'm curious to see what you'll do next.
i agree! since itch.io already has the functionality built in for devlogs, it seems like the perfect place to host it.
cool cool, this is my first game i've posted here so I wasnt sure if anyone actually looks at those lol
zoom: added
Add a picture mode, amazing game, thanks, love you, gl, love you again, do you accept? thank love
thanks! what do you mean by picture mode?
no UI, so Like when I screenshot it just shows the houses and land not the building mode stuff on the left
dope for coding simplicity im adding a button to disable menus and another button to download screenshots, ill post a devlog when its out
THank you so mucn oml oml oml now everyone can see my masterpieces
I have lots to say about the game, but I would like to try and condense my rambling
into a bullet list:In short, I love it! It might not be engaging, but the game sticks to its own mechanics and purpose, as it is relaxing to play :)
yaaay thanks so much for the feedback! I added all of this to my to do list :) this was indeed inspired by wanting spirited away to be real haha
Hey,
I really like the game so far.
Let me know if i could help you with anything.
thank you!! if you have any ideas for new content in the game that would be great!
